We’re incredibly proud to share that Hera has recently been named Best Recruitment Partner for High-Growth Tech Startups 2026 at the UK Enterprise Awards.
It’s a truly exciting moment for us! Building Hera has been a journey of its own, so receiving recognition for the work we do with high-growth tech businesses means a huge amount to us.
However, when we think about what this award represents, it doesn’t feel like something that belongs to Hera alone. It reflects the relationships we’ve built with the founders, hiring managers, candidates and businesses we’ve had the opportunity to work with along the way.
Every business we work with is at a different stage of its journey. Some are making a crucial first hire, some are growing an existing team, and others are looking for a particular person who can bring something new to the business. What they all have in common is that the hiring process matters and for a growing business, bringing the right people into the team can have a real impact on what comes next.
A more human approach to recruitment
Hera is a female-founded business, and from the beginning, we wanted to build something that felt different. Relationships have always been central to the way we work. We spend time actually getting to know the people behind the businesses we support, as well as the candidates we work with.
Recruitment can get a rep for being somewhat transactional, but we don’t believe the best results come from treating it that way. For us, actually taking the time to understand a business, which means knowing more than just job titles and headcount plans, it crucial in order to help that business grow. We spend time discussing what the company is building, what challenges it is facing and what kind of people will help move things forward.
The same applies to our candidates. A career move is rarely just about finding the next available job. People are considering the work they’ll be doing, the people they’ll work with, the opportunities ahead of them and the type of business they want to be part of, so taking the time to understand those things helps us make better connections between people and businesses.
That approach has been at the centre of Hera since the beginning and continues to shape the way we work today.
Supporting the businesses building what comes next
There is something particularly exciting about working with high-growth businesses. Things move quickly, there is usually a lot happening at once and the decisions being made today can have a real impact on where the company goes next.
A great hire can bring experience that the team has been missing, give a founder more capacity to focus on the bigger picture or help a business move forward with confidence. Equally, we know that a bad hire can be costly, disruptive and take up valuable time and energy.
That’s why we take the responsibility of being involved in someone’s hiring or career decision seriously. Whether we’re helping a startup make an important hire or supporting someone with their next move, we’re always conscious that there is more to the process than simply filling a vacancy.
We also care about the makeup of the teams being built. The tech industry still has work to do when it comes to creating opportunities for people from different backgrounds and ensuring that the businesses of the future are being shaped by a wider range of voices and experiences. As Hera continues to grow, this remains an important part of the wider impact we want to have.
What this award means to us
Being named Best Recruitment Partner for High-Growth Tech Startups 2026 is a brilliant recognition of the work team Hera has put in, but it is also a reflection of the people and businesses who have trusted us to work alongside them.
We’re grateful to every founder who has brought us into their business, every hiring manager who has trusted us with an important search and every candidate who has trusted us with their next move. Hera has grown through those relationships, conversations and opportunities, and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built so far.
We’re also only getting started! There are plenty more businesses building exciting things, plenty more teams to grow and, we’re sure, plenty more conversations beginning with some version of, “We need to make this hire quickly, can you help?” Thankfully, that’s exactly what we love doing.
So, while we’ve took the time to give ourselves a well-earned pat on the back, we’re now going to continue doing recruitment the Hera way by helping ambitious businesses find brilliant people and supporting great people as they take their next step.
A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far & here’s to what comes next!
